Impingement and Bursitis

BETTER, STRONGER, FITTER

This type of shoulder injury is usually associated with tendon pain or dysfunction of how the shoulder blade is rotating around your rib cage.

Bursitis is caused by irritation of tissues/tendons not sliding properly causing irritation to the fluid like sac (swelling).

The swelling blocks the space and creates less space for movement to occur = shoulder pain.

Impingement will often be described by patients as pain free movement in most ranges until they lift above their head. Known as the painful arc. Gets worse the higher they lift their arm.
